Full course description
History and Theory of Distance Education explores the foundational theories, instructional design models, and the seminal literature in distance education. Learners will also consider how the role of the instructor in a distance education course is different from that of an instructor in a face-to-face course. Strategies for success in distance education, such as community building and use of digital media, will also be explored. At the end of the course, learners will have the opportunity to submit a "Philosophy of Distance Education Statement."
